Dennis has lived in Grand Junction with his wife, Mary, for 24 years. He is a devoted father of three and loving grandfather of six. He is a retired CPA, avid bridge player and is "all in" on learning to play pickle ball.
For over 15 years, Dennis Simpson has worked to keep the Western Slope's local governments in check while advocating for accountability and transparency.
When governments weren't being honest with taxpayers, Dennis brought a lifetime of experience as an executive-level Certified Public Accountant to fight for accountability in courtrooms and council chambers. His efforts have helped citizens exercise their rights to know what's going on and hold elected officials accountable.
Over his 40 year career, Dennis was a business owner and worked in private and government finance.
His experience leading the finance department at Durango School District 9-R through booms and busts and his understanding of the day-to-day challenges of running a small business make him the best candidate to work for our economic recovery in 2021 on the Grand Junction City Council.
A Better Life for GJ Families
Grand Junction is a town that's always written its own playbook.
We're proud to have the freedom to make our way and build a life on our terms - and we're not afraid to invest in ourselves and our families when the payoff makes sense.
Once we recover from today's crisis, we will have many new opportunities as well as big problems to solve. Dennis wants to bring his deep experience to make sure we get the next chapter right.
